In a heart-warming moment, Lakhwinder Singh of Kalu Rai Hithar village — who was going for his wedding — halted the ‘baraat’ outside the polling centre and cast his vote while dressed up as the bridegroom. Later, the wedding procession moved to Hazarasingh Wala. A similar scene was witnessed in Varyam Singh Wala village in Guruharsahai where another groom, Ashishpreet Singh, also ensured that he cast his vote before heading out for wedding festivities.
