2 held after encounter in Faridkot
After an encounter, the Faridkot police on Thursday evening arrested two youths, who have been allegedly indulging in criminal acts for the past two years.
Suspects Lovepreet Singh and Ravinder Singh allegedly opened fire on the police and were injured in the retaliatory firing by the police. They have been admitted to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital here.
One of them was allegedly also involved in a recent fight between two groups at Kameana village here.
Gurvinder Singh, CIA Staff in-charge of the Faridkot police, said two persons riding a bike were signalled to stop for checking near the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.
They, however, tried to flee. On being chased, they opened fire on the police and were injured in the retaliatory fire. One pistol and some live cartridges were seized from their possession. They already face some criminal cases.
