2 Independent Sangrur councillors join AAP
Two Independent councillors of Sangrur municipal council joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in presence of party MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj on Thursday.
With the joining of Pardeep Puri, alias Pappu, from Ward No. 10 and Avtar Singh Tara from Ward No. 22, the number of AAP’s councillors in Sangrur civic body has increased from seven to nine.
AAP MLA Bharaj assured due honour and respect to both the councillors in the party. In civic body elections held on December 21, 2024, AAP could bag only seven wards out of 29. The Congress won nine wards, the BJP three and the Independents 10 wards.
