2 lakh residents visited Aam Aadmi clinics in Malerkotla

Over two lakh residents from the Malerkotla and Amargarh assembly constituencies have utilised medical services at the nine Aam Aadmi Clinics in the district, according to reports. The majority of patients visiting these clinics have expressed satisfaction with the AAP government’s initiative to provide free, quality primary healthcare close to their homes.

However, legislators Zamil Ur Rehman of Malerkotla and Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra of Amargarh have urged senior administrative officials to further improve the treatment and diagnostic services offered at these clinics to meet the growing demand of the public.

“Though most of the patients visiting Aam Aadmi Clinics in Malerkotla district showed satisfaction over the facilities available during past years, we have advised the authorities to further enhance the arrangements as the number of patients seeking treatment is expected to increase,” said Rehman.

Citing data from the Civil Surgeon’s office, Rehman revealed that 52,596 patients were treated at the nine clinics in 2024, with nearly 1.30 lakh patients having been examined for various ailments so far. Additionally, 70,655 diagnostic tests were conducted at the laboratories within these clinics, Rehman added.

Both MLAs commended the residents for placing their trust in the AAP led clinics.
