Two people were killed and another was injured when a blaze erupted at a paint factory in Anngarh area here on Sunday.

The victims are yet to be identified.

The fire started around 11 am. The administration and police immediately swung into action. The administration evacuated people from the nearby houses.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Amit Sarin said five fire tenders were pressed into service. He said the reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained. He said if the paint factory was legal would be investigated once the fire was doused.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Vishaljit Singh said one person with serious burns was rushed to hospital.
