Man injured in cylinder blast

Muktsar: A man got injured in a gas cylinder blast at a residence near Hanuman Temple in Malout town on Tuesday evening. The injured was immediately taken to civil hospital in Malout, where he was recuperating from his injuries. TNS

5 drug peddlers held

Abohar: Five drug peddlers, four of them having a Punjab connection, were held in Sriganganagar on Wednesday with 120 gm heroin. All suspects were booked under the NDPS Act. Police officials said 44 gm heroin was seized from Wakil Chaudhary and Mohit Pareek; 65 gm heroin was seized from Iqbal Singh and Veer Singh; and 11 gm heroin was seized from Vijay Singh alias Mandeep Singh. Award for Sangrur schools

Sangrur: The district clinched the top position in ‘Green Schools Programme’ of the Center for Science and Environment.
