Seventeen-year-old Pakistani youth Mubarshar Bilal reunited with his family after almost two years. He had inadvertently crossed over to the Indian territory in 2018. With him, another Pakistan national Sajjad Haider too crossed the Attari-Wagah border to return today.

Bilal had been kept in a juvenile home in Hoshiarpur after he was held by the BSF in February 2018.

Bilal, alias Mubarak, a resident of Kasur, was caught from Khemkaran village of Tarn Taran in February 2018.

Bilal said he was happy to join back his family. He said he had crossed over the border after he was scolded by his father, but never knew the repercussions. He praised the Indian authorities for treating him well.

Meanwhile, Lahore resident Haider, alias Mohammad Parvez, was caught for spying from Delhi in 2010. He served 10-year jail term in Delhi. Both were handed over to the Pakistan Rangers by the Border Security Force. — TNS
