Two Chinese hand grenades, five pistols and around 50 live cartridges were seized from the terrorists.

The seriously hurt terrorists, with multiple bullet injuries were shifted to the Civil Hospital Ludhiana after the operation that concluded under the supervision of Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma.

Though the police were yet to issue a formal release, investigations revealed that the police had received inputs about the activities of some terrorists following some arrests by the Bihar and Haryana police yesterday.

Having received vital information, the police had laid a trap for the motorcycle-borne duo who, after being chased, opened fire on the cops near the Chahar toll plaza.

Both terrorists were seriously injured in the retaliatory firing.

Swapan Sharma confirmed that the duo was part of a terror module working under Pakistan agency ISI and was planning to strike at a strategic location in Punjab to spread terror.

Senior functionaries of the police reached the hospital where the terrorists were shifted for treatment.

The Ludhiana Police had recently foiled an Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) terror plot with the arrest of 10 suspects linked to Pakistan’s ISI. As the ISI agents Ajay Malaysia, Jass Behbal and Pawandeep were found to be operating from Malaysia to spread terror in Punjab, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had started a probe in the case.
