2 varsity teachers feature in Stanford list of top scientists

Two scientists of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, have been listed in the world ranking of top two per cent best scientists in an independent study conducted by Stanford University, USA.

One of the most prestigious universities in the world, Stanford University has recently released a list of top two per cent best scientists of 2019.

Dr Kawaljit Singh Sandhu, Head, Department of Food Science and Technology and Dr Ashish Baldi from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, MRSPTU, Bathinda, made the university proud by getting featured in the list in ‘food science’ and ‘pharmacy’ domains, respectively.

Dr Sandhu got the worldwide rank of 967 whereas Dr Baldi was ranked 1,745 in their respective fields.

Dr Sandhu has been actively involved in research and has to his credit three books, 12 book chapters and 82 publications in journals of repute.

Dr Baldi is known globally in the field of pharmaceutical sciences due to his five patents, two technology transfers to industries, more than 125 publications, 12 major research grants by the Government of India, 12 books and over 150 presentations.
