The police today arrested two persons within four hours of filing a case in connection with a theft in a shop. A businessman, Amninder Singh of Thatheran Wala village, that falls under the Amirkhas police station, had filed a complaint of a theft in his shop. A case under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC was registered.

The SSP, Manjeet Singh Dhesi, said the investigating team examined the CCTV footage and traced the suspects, who were identified as Harmesh Singh of Sarawan Bodla village and Swaran Singh of Lamochad Kalan village.

He said that as many as 26 mobile phones, two UPS, two LED screens, along with accessories worth Rs 2.5 lakh, were recovered from them.
