3 arrested in Moga; 8 country-made pistols recovered
Separate cases registered under Arms Act; one accused has five previous FIRs
Moga Police have arrested three individuals and recovered eight country-made pistols, four magazines, and five live cartridges in two separate cases registered under the Arms Act.
In the first case, Moga CIA staff acted on a tip-off and arrested Navjot Singh alias Naval of Takhanvadh near an electricity grid on the link road from Moga-Bagha Purana to Tarewala village.
During the search, police recovered three country-made .32 bore pistols with magazines and two live cartridges, along with one country-made .30 bore pistol with a magazine and one live cartridge, from his kit bag.
During interrogation, Navjot confessed to having procured the weapons from Mandaldeep Singh alias Raja of Saidoke, Moga.
Acting on his disclosure, police arrested Mandaldeep Singh and recovered one country-made .30 bore pistol with a magazine from his possession.
Both accused, aged approximately 33 and 24 respectively, were found to have no prior criminal record.
In the second case, another team of CIA nabbed Sukhdeep Singh alias Bobby, a resident of Dhurkot Kalan, on the link road between Mehna and Dala villages following a tip-off. Police recovered two country-made .30 bore pistols with three magazines and one country-made .32 bore pistol with a magazine from his possession.
Sukhdeep, aged about 27, has a criminal history with five previous FIRs registered against him between April 2024 and July 2025 in Moga and Faridkot districts.
Moga SP B K Singla said that with these arrests, a total of eight country-made pistols were recovered in two coordinated operations — four of .32 bore with four magazines and five live cartridges, and four of .30 bore with four magazines.
