Barnala, December 9

The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) has confiscated nearly 1.05 lakh habit-forming tablets and arrested two persons. However, two other accused managed to flee. The police have also arrested a customer from Handiaya.

CIA incharge Baljit Singh said on a tip-off about the movement of smugglers in their area, they put up a “naka” on the Handiaya-Dhanaula link road on Sunday.

“We seized a total of 1.05 lakh habit-forming tablets from a car and arrested Sarvan and Deepak. Their two accomplices — Shankar and Raju — fled from the spot. We have also arrested Rinku, who was their customer. We have registered a case and conducing further investigations,” the CIA incharge said.
