They were arrested after a hotel owner alleged that the suspects accused them of immoral trafficking and demanded money from him.

The hotel owner also alleged that the accused snatched his licensed revolver.

The situation escalated when a police team, led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), reached the hotel.

A brief scuffle allegedly ensued between the police personnel and the accused, followed by a short chase.

The police managed to overpower them.

All three have been booked for extortion, criminal intimidation and unlawful possession of a firearm.

“The accused attempted to take the law into their hands by accusing the hotel owner of illegal activities and demanding money. We acted swiftly upon receiving the complaint and brought the situation under control,” said a senior police official.

“The hotel owner's revolver has been recovered, and further investigation is underway,” said the officer.

Meanwhile, the Moga police initiated an inquiry into the allegations of immoral trafficking against the hotel. Forensic and surveillance teams have been deployed to gather evidence and the hotel’s records are being scrutinised.
