Hanumangarh police station incharge Nand Ram Bhadoo said three trucks were intercepted on the mega highway. It surfaced that 72 persons had boarded the vehicles in different areas in Gujarat to unite with their families in Punjab. All of them were working in industrial units in Gujarat and could not board trains or buses due to Union Government’s decision of a complete lockdown. The truckers, who had offloaded goods in Gujarat, agreed to ferry them on way back.

Meanwhile, 188 Punjabis who had arrived from Bharuch yesterday and were camping in Sadhuwali village on the Abohar-Sriganganagar border, were allowed to leave for their native places in Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Amritsar today.
