The district police issued 18,666 challans for traffic violations and imposed a penalty of Rs 1.18 crore in 2024.

Muktsar SSP Tushar Gupta said they registered as many as 348 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and arrested 522 persons during the year.

Besides, the district police found 800 lost mobile phones and handed these over to their owners, he added.
