The Khanna police arrested four individuals and seized 448 spools of banned Chinese plastic string. The accused were identified as Raman Kumar (21) of Ratanheri Khanna, Dinesh Kumar (23) of Samrala Chowk, Ludhiana, Ramanpreet Singh (40) of Shivaji Nagar, Ludhiana, and Ashu (35) of Tibba Road.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Harpinder Kaur Gill stated that, on January 31, the police acted on a tip-off about the suspects transporting a large quantity of the banned string to Khanna for sale. A raid was conducted, and three accused were arrested with 400 spools.

Later that night, during a routine patrol near Chowki Kot, Ashu was stopped on suspicion. Upon searching his bag, 48 spools of the plastic string were found. Ashu admitted to intending to sell the string to residents of Khanna. Cases were registered against all the accused, and further investigations are ongoing.
