4 held with contraband
The police have arrested three persons travelling in a car in Hanumangarh and seized heroin from them.
Hanumangarh Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan said the team of Sub-Inspector Pramod Singh arrested Parvez Akhtar (22), Salman (24) and Javed Akhtar (32), residents of Gudiya village, while they were travelling in a car with 196.82 gm of heroin. He said the vehicle used by them was seized too. The SP said a case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the suspects, adding that investigation has been handed over to Sub-Inspector Gajendra Sharma.
The SP said in another case, a team of the Anti-Narcotics Cell led by Manjit Singh seized 5,500 intoxicating tablets from Baljit Singh of Pakki Tibbi village. The police said the suspect was travelling on a motorcycle near Balluana village on the Abohar-Malout road when he was apprehended. They said the suspect’s bike was also seized, and a case under Sections 229(C), 61, and 85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against him.
