Ludhiana, April 1

Tightening the noose around traders and their accomplices involved in causing loss to the state exchequer through tax evasion running into hundreds of crores of rupees, the Ludhiana CGST Commissionerate has arrested four more persons in three cases registered here in the recent past.

The suspects were involved in availing fake input tax credit (ITC) of Rs 87.36 crore through bogus billing of Rs 1,007.61 crore by

With this, the total number of arrests has gone up to 18 in the last fiscal. The drive against the suspects began in November on the directions of the CBIC chairman, an official said here on Thursday.
