The four-year-old son of AAP leader Manoj Kumar Mahar (37) who is accused of shooting a village sarpanch’s husband accompanied is mother and grandmother in police custody.

Mahar had allegedly shot 35-year-old Shankar Jalap at Kallar Khera village on Thursday.

Mahar’s wife Sneha and mother Saroj Rani who have been named in the FIR were arrested by the police. The women were remanded in police custody for investigation in the case.

Sources said the child could not be left behind as there was no one at home to take care of him.

The police said the boy can be handed over to an appropriate relative for the time being as per the directions of the court.

His father Manoj Kumar Mahar and grandfather are yet to be arrested.
