40 govt school students in Punjab crack JEE (Advanced)

For the first time, at least 40 students from government schools in the state have cleared the Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) this year.

Arshdeep Singh, a student of Shaheed Flight Lt Mohit Kumar Garg School of Eminence, Samana, embodies resilience and promise, driven to uplift his family and give back to the society. His mother works as a sanitation worker.

Lovepreet Singh from a government school in Ferozepur district cracked the exam without any private coaching. Father of Harkiran Dass, a government school student from Patiala district, works in a factory with a monthly income of only Rs 7,000.

Education Minister Harjot Bains said these stories were testament to the power of education, resilience and dedication. “From humble beginnings to achieving excellence, they have shown that with unwavering determination and hard work, nothing is impossible in life. Their success will undoubtedly inspire other students to unlock their potential and strive for excellence,” he said.
