The border district has been chosen for a Rs 5-crore award for its outstanding performance in the “Overall” category under the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP) by the NITI Aayog.

Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma said that aayog’s Chief Executive Officer BVR Subrahmanyam has lauded achievements of the district administration and the Central Prabhari Officer (CPO) for improvement in key performance indicators.

“To utilise the granted funds, the administration has formulated a comprehensive plan in coordination with state authorities and the CPO. The final approval for the proposal will be taken by the Empowered Committee of Secretaries overseeing the Aspirational Districts and Blocks Programme,” said the DC.

“The award money will be spent on development works in various areas,” said the DC.
