As part of the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” drive, the police on Sunday conducted raids at 424 locations across the state, leading to the arrest of 63 drug smugglers and the registration of 45 FIRs. With this, the number of arrested drug smugglers has reached 2,012 in 16 days.
The police teams also seized 385 gm heroin, 19 kg poppy husk, 2,673 intoxicating pills and injections, besides Rs 15,600 drug money from the possession of arrested drug smugglers. The operation was conducted simultaneously in all 28 police districts across the state.
Special DGP (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla said over 200 police teams, comprising over 1,400 police personnel, under the supervision of 98 gazetted officers, conducted raids across the state and checked 593 suspicious persons during the day-long operation.
