- As many as 66 challans were issued and 15 schoolbuses impounded under the Safe School Vehicle Scheme in Kapurthala on Monday evening.
- Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner Dipti Uppal said vehicles used for ferrying students should be painted yellow.
- All buses should prominently display the name of the school, telephone numbers of the school and the transport officer on the front and at the rear.
- Also, the vehicles should have a first-aid box, fire extinguisher and an emergency door.
- These should not be older than 15 years and must have women attendants and CCTVs cameras. Drivers and conductors should be in proper uniform
- Phagwara SDM Gurvinder Singh Johal issued 34 challans and impounded 13 buses. Kapurthala SDM Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa challaned eight buses.OC
