66 buses challaned in Kapurthala

As many as 66 challans were issued and 15 schoolbuses impounded under the Safe School Vehicle Scheme in Kapurthala on Monday evening.
Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner Dipti Uppal said vehicles used for ferrying students should be painted yellow.
All buses should prominently display the name of the school, telephone numbers of the school and the transport officer on the front and at the rear.
Also, the vehicles should have a first-aid box, fire extinguisher and an emergency door.
These should not be older than 15 years and must have women attendants and CCTVs cameras. Drivers and conductors should be in proper uniform
Phagwara SDM Gurvinder Singh Johal issued 34 challans and impounded 13 buses. Kapurthala SDM Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa challaned eight buses.OC
