7 held with illicit liquor

The police have arrested seven persons for smuggling 504 bottles of illicit liquor and 250 litres of country made liquor in Mansa district.

Mansa SSP Surendar Lamba said: “As part of a special drive against bootlegging and drugs trafficking, the district police on a tip off raided different areas recently and seized a cache of illicit liquor. Seven persons were arrested.

“Apart from country made liquor, illicit liquor of a Haryana-based brand was also recovered during raids and at special checkpoints. Those arrested are being booked under relevant sections and interrogated to find out their links with others involved in the network.”
