The police today seized 51 kg poppy husk from a car that two persons had abandoned near Suratgarh terminal on National Highway-62 before fleeing. A case was registered under the NDPS Act. The help of the Punjab police has been sought to identify the owner of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, 13 kg poppy husk was seized while searching a truck driver’s cabin near Ramsara terminal on the highway. Driver Harjinder Singh of Jalandhar and cleaner Radheyshyam Sharma of Yamunanagar were held under the NDPS Act.

In another incident, the Abohar police seized 7 kg poppy husk from Harish Beniwal of Bhopalgarh district, Jodhpur, while his accomplice Sukhjit Dholia of Mehrana village fled.
