75-year-old man booked for rape

A 75-year-old man has been accused of raping a nine-year-old girl. The victim’s mother left for work at noon on Thursday, leaving her daughter alone. The girl went to a nearby house to deliver clothes for stitching. The accused allegedly lured her to his house and committed the crime.

On returning home, the woman was told about the incident by her daughter. She then lodged an FIR. The girl has been admitted to the Abohar Civil Hospital.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
