Over 800 people were found suffering from viral fever in flood-affected Fazilka villages during a week-long survey carried out by the Health Department with the assistance of accredited social health activists (ASHAs).
However, no case of malaria and dengue was detected, according to information.
The department had launched a special drive from September 14 as the floodwaters receded across the state.
According to official sources, the ASHAs surveyed 34,095 houses in 111 affected villages. Besides, 17,784 patients were examined during health camps.
During the survey and check-up at medical camps, 809 patients were found suffering from viral fever.. The department also distributed 17,182 kits containing medicines for the treatment of mild ailments at home.
Civil Surgeon Rohit Goyal said the patients were suffering from mild to moderate viral fever. He said no case of dengue and malaria was detected in the flood-affected villages.
