A day after he got bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court in a corruption case lodged against him by the Vigilance Bureau, a fresh case has been registered against MLA Raman Arora at Rama Mandi police station here.

A senior police official said the procedure of his arrest would be adopted after his release from Nabha jail on Thursday and he would be presented in the local court later in the day.

The FIR was registered on August 30 on charges of extortion against the MLA lodged by a private institution.

The MLA was arrested on May 23. Officials of the Municipal Corporation, including Assistant Town Planner Sukhdev Singh and Inspector Harpreet Kaur, were also arrested in the graft case with him.

The VB has already booked his son, who had got a pre-arrest bail from the court.
