Alleging poll rigging, the district AAP unit has decided to write to the State Election Commission demanding re-election in wards where booth capturing and bogus voting occurred.

In a statement, district unit president Navdeep Singh Jeeda said: “The ruling Congress government aided capturing of booths and facilitated bogus voting in some booths of Bathinda. Apart from bringing ‘goons’ from other states, police and polling staff were wrongfully used to benefit Congress candidates.”

“Since development works were not carried out in the past four years, the Congress government knew people would not vote for them, so they resorted to unfair means to get advantage in the elections.

“We have taken a strong view of the matter and decided to write to the SEC, demanding re-election in all those wards where booth capturing and bogus voting occurred,” said Jeeda.
