Chandigarh, June 26

AAP’s defeat in the Sangrur Lok Sabha byelection is a rejection of its false promises and guarantees, said the BJP today. Congratulating Simranjit Singh Mann, party state president Ashwani Sharma said people of Punjab had “shown the AAP its place”. He said BJP nominee Kewal Dhillon’s performance was good as the party was contesting the Sangrur LS poll for the first time after almost three decades.

He said the result showed people had lost faith in AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal and CM Bhagwant Mann. He claimed the AAP would suffer even bigger defeat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
