Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa on Friday questioned the AAP government’s claims over the condition of state-run schools, alleging its education model had been a failure.

He slammed the state government’s “Sikhya Kranti” initiative, which he said was a mere “public relations gimmick”. Under the campaign, which lasted for 54 days from April 7 to May 31, the government inaugurated upgraded infrastructure in over 10,000 schools. “It is appalling that 856 of 1,927 government schools are functioning without principals. Our teachers are retiring while waiting for promotions. Schools are being run without leadership,” he said.
