Chandigarh, February 8

The Election Commission of India (ECI) today appointed ADGP MF Farooqui as nodal officer (Punjab) for the Lok Sabha elections.

Farooqui, a 1995-batch IPS officer, has remained Director, Wakf Board, Punjab, besides heading the Punjab Armed Police.

He had remained on deputation with the Border Security Force also. He has won numerous awards.
