Chandigarh, September 23

ADGP Harpreet Singh Sidhu is tipped to take over as the new chief of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau.

Sidhu is currently the head of the Special Task Force against drugs.

He will replace DGP Vigilance BK Uppal.

The name of the new Punjab DGP is also expected to be announced anytime on Thursday.

VK Bhawra, Sidharth Chattopadhyay and IPS Sahota are in contention for the top post.

Sources say Chattopadhyaya is the frontrunner for the post, but the state government needs a legal clearance for his appointment.
