Gidderbaha/Muktsar, Aug 19
As Gidderbaha Assembly segment is set to witness a byelection shortly, ticket aspirants of some political parties have already started flocking to religious places.
SAD’s Gidderbaha constituency in-charge Hardeep Singh Dimpy Dhillon, along with his supporters, recently paid obeisance at Mata Chintpurni temple in Una district in Himachal Pradesh. He even served hot milk to the public as ‘sewa’ there.
Similarly, Narinder Singh Kaoni, chairman of Muktsar zila parishad, who is among the frontrunners for the Congress ticket, too recently visited Salina village in Moga district to get blessings from Sant Gurjant Singh. Besides, he recently attended two ‘jagrans’ in the constituency.
“I am a Congressman and trying my level best. If the party reposes faith in me, I will contest the election. For this, I recently visited Salina village and took blessings from Sant Gurjant Singh,” said Kaoni.
Meanwhile, the leaders of all main political parties, except the BJP, have started holding public meetings in this constituency. Both the SAD and Congress have assigned duties of one-two villages to their leaders of Malwa region. SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and PCC chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring have also increased their activities here.
The AAP has made Cabinet minister Aman Arora and MLA Dharamkot Devinderjeet Singh Laddi Dhos as in-charge and co-incharge for Gidderbaha bypoll. Further, CM Mann too visited this constituency last month.
