AIIMS-Bathinda was left with only one day of oxygen due to an issue between the suppliers and the hospital management over high pricing of the life-saving gas.

Bathinda MP Harsimrat Badal posted a message on Twitter, showing her concern over the matter. “Just spoke to Punjab health secy & Bathinda DC to sort out #Oxygen rate contract issue between the supplier & #AIIMS immediately. AIIMS Bathinda has only a day’s supply of O2 left for 70 critical #Covid patients. With highest death rate in Bathinda, oxygen is crucial to save their lives.”

“It’s ironic that Govt of Pb through a circular caps the #Oxygen rate at Rs 175/cylinder, inclusive of transportation & loading etc. but supplier now refusing to provide cylinders below Rs 350. When will govt end this rampant profiteering at the cost of people’s lives?” she wrote.
