Akal Takht to take suo moto notice of sacrilege incidents: Acting Jathedar
Akal Takht acting Jathedar Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj today said the Akal Takht would take suo moto notice if any case of sacrilege was reported, stressing such incidents wouldn’t occur if the Sikh Panth was united.
He said a mass movement would be started to propagate Sikh history and the basic tenets of Sikhism needed to be included in school syllabus. He added that a lot of Sikh history needed to be taught in schools in relation to 'Chhapar Chiri Di Jang, Sirhind Di Diwar', etc.
Earlier, he paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and inaugurated an exhibition in the SGGS World University. He said such initiatives conducted by the university not only increased the knowledge of students, but also contributed significantly in connecting them with their heritage. He appreciated the SGPC for naming the university on the name of Guru Granth Sahib.
