Sangrur, January 25
Sangrur Sessions Judge RS Rai today stayed the conviction of Cabinet Minister Aman Arora till January 31 in an assault case.
The conviction has been stayed on an appeal filed by Arora in a case in which he and eight others, including his mother Parmeshwari Devi, were convicted and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by a Sunam court on December 21 for assaulting Rajinder Deepa, brother-in-law of Aman Arora, in 2008.
Arguments on the appeal of Arora concluded around 7 pm yesterday while the Sessions Judge had adjourned the case for today to pronounce the order.
