Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring today asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as to why he did not allow plying of Punjab Government buses up to the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport earlier.

Warring released an old clip when as Transport Minister he had confronted Kejriwal in Amritsar and urged him to allow plying of state government buses up to the IGI Airport. Warring at the time had even suggested that the Delhi Government could operate buses from the airport to Punjab and prevent exploitation of passengers by powerful private bus operators.

Although Kejriwal had agreed at the time, he later backed out, saying the rules allowed government buses to go up to the bus stand only.

“But Kejirwal wanted to claim credit at the cost of common Punjabis,” he said, adding, “what he is doing now, he could have done six months ago as we very much wanted government buses to ply up to the airport at that time also.”

Asking Kejriwal what had changed in the past six months, Warring posed questions to him— “Why didn’t you give this permission earlier? Were Punjabis punished for your credit-hogging agenda? Why did you remain negatively adamant and evasive when I as a minister urged for the sake of Punjab to cooperate?” — TNS
