Amritpal aide Papalpreet in judicial custody
On a day when the detention period of pro-Khalistan leader Amritpal Singh was extended by a year, a sub-divisional court at Ajnala remanded his close aide Papalpreet Singh in judicial custody till May 1.
He was produced in the court after the expiry of his police remand. The court rejected the demand of the police to extend his remand for further investigation.
Papalpreet was released from the Dibrugarh Central Jail on April 9 after the expiry of his detention under the NSA. He was later arrested by the Amritsar (Rural) police in the Ajnala police station attack case of February 2023.
