Tension has gripped the family as it is eagerly waiting to know about his whereabouts. “Since July 22, there has been no trace of Harmandeep,” they said.

Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla on Saturday met his family at Mahawa village. He assured them that the government was in touch with the Indian embassy over there regarding the issue.

Aujla said every possible effort was being made to locate him.

The MP said after he got the information about Harmandeep’s disappearance, he contacted the Indian embassy in Rome and informed them about it. The embassy told him that they were in touch with the police there and the Indians living there were also being questioned. They have also talked to Harmandeep’s father here.

He said Harmandeep was supposed to come to India to attend the wedding of his brother in December.
