Amritsar, June 27

The Amritsar police will take notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in custody in connection with killing of another gangster Rana Kandowalia in August last year.

A police official said that Bishnoi would be produced in the court tomorrow morning and will be arriving in Amritsar late at night. He would be kept at the joint interrogation centre here.

The local court was today turned into a fortress while heavy security was also deputed outside joint interrogation centre.

Rana Kandowalia was shot dead by armed persons in a private hospital where he had gone to meet someone. The city police had booked four persons, including Jagroshan, Mani Rayya, both accomplices of gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, and two unknown persons in this connection.

A Facebook post from an account named 'Bhagwanpuria Jaggu' claimed that Goldy Brar killed Rana Kandowalia at the direction of Bhagwanpuria.

Jaggu, in a Facebook post, claimed that Rana used to support Vicky Gondar and Davinder Bambiha in the past and he had warned him of the consequences.
