Anandpur Sahib gears up for light & sound show on Guru's life

The Punjab Government will  organise a light and sound show depicting the life and martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur at Charan Ganga Stadium in Anandpur Sahib next month. Ropar Deputy Commissioner Varjeet Singh Walia said around 25,000 devotees are expected to attend the event.

Officials today inspected the site where the event has been planned. The DC said a series of large-scale religious programmes would also be organised in Anandpur Sahib from November 23 to November 25. Keeping in view the large influx of devotees during the events, the district administration has been making preparations for the past two months.

He further said cleanliness work was being carried out at the Charan Ganga Stadium, where the light and sound programme would take place. For the convenience of devotees, appropriate parking spaces were being arranged around the stadium. Streetlights had been made functional on all routes leading to the Charan Ganga Stadium, which was being renovated and painted. Proper seating arrangements were being made for the devotees, and strict security measures would be in place around the stadium, Walia said.
