Anmol Bishnoi 'may be rival gangs’ target'; in first reaction, family urges Centre to ensure his safety in India
Says they had come to know from media sources that rivals could harm him
After the deportation of gangster Anmol Bishnoi from the USA, his cousin Ramesh Bishnoi, while talking to The Tribune, urged the Union Government to ensure Anmol’s safety. “The family wants explicit protective measures to ensure he isn’t harmed, either by rival gangs or others who might want to target him,” said Ramesh, who is a paternal cousin of Anmol and his brother Lawrence Bishnoi. He added that they had come to know from media sources that rival gang members could harm him.
Ramesh, who is also vice-president of All-India Jeev Raksha Bishnoi Sabha and national convener of Sabha’s Yuva Morcha wing, which is headed by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, emphasised that the community, which is known for the protection of wildlife, particularly the black bucks and trees, "respects the law".
“Whatever the decision would be pronounced by the court regarding the alleged involvement of Anmol in the murder of NCP leader Baba Saddique and involvement in shooting outside Salman Khan’s house would be honoured by each and everyone.”
He expressed faith that an investigation would eventually “reveal the truth”. He said that if sought, the family was ready to extend every support to the government in this regard.
