The Punjab Police arrested another associate of pro-Khalistan leader and Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh from Faridkot district on Saturday. He was identified as Amandeep Singh of Panjgaryian village in Kotkapura. He was produced in an Ajnala court that remanded him in three-day police custody.
According to the police, he was nominated in the FIR registered in connection with the Ajnala police station attack. He was present at the site of incident, the police claimed.
Confirming his arrest, Harinder Singh Gill, SP (Detective), Amritsar rural police, said he was arrested following the questioning of seven aides of Waris Punjab De head Amritpal Singh who were brought from Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam.
Amritpal Singh, his close associate Pappalpreet Singh and Varinder Singh Johal were still languishing in the Assam jail. More arrests were likely in the coming days. Sources said the cops were identifying persons who were present during the Ajnala police station attack in February 2023.
