Harjinder Singh (65), a farmer from Khawaspur near Sri Goindwal Sahib, died of heart attack on Sunday at the Shambhu border. He had gone to participate in the second phase of Delhi Morcha four days back. Sarwan Singh Pandher, state leader of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, Punjab, said that the farmer complained of chest pain and was brought to the Civil Hospital, Rajpura, where he breathed his last.
Pandher said that it was the 27th death in the second phase of the Delhi Morcha. He said that three farmers, including two women from Tarn Taran district, have died while participating in the Morcha recently. The last rites of Harjinder Singh would be performed tomorrow.
