Amid restrictions imposed due to Covid, the Punjab Government has accorded permission to the Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MBAFPI) for girls to conduct entrance examination.
This year, 1,155 candidates had registered online for 25 seats in the institute, out of which only 821 were found eligible to appear in the exam, scheduled to be held on August 5. The exam has been outsourced to the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Mohali.
Maj Gen (retd) IP Singh, MBAFPI Director, said all necessary administrative clearances had been taken for the exam and all required safety measures were being taken in accordance with Covid protocols. To maintain social distancing and avoid crowding, the exam would be held at two venues.
A residential institute, MBAFPI selects girls who have passed Class XII and prepares them to join the armed forces, along with enabling them to complete their graduation from MCM DAV College, Chandigarh.
