Army rescues individual stranded in Ayad river using drones
The Indian Army averted a tragedy in Rajasthan by successfully rescuing an individual from the swollen waters of Ayad river near Udaipur using drones.
Trimshat Brigade Headquarters of Battle Axe Division received a request from the District Collector, Udaipur, seeking urgent assistance to save a 30-year-old man trapped in midstream near General Area, Hiran Magri, during heavy rain. Responding promptly, a rescue team from an Infantry Battalion of the Brigade consisting two Junior Commissioned Officers and 10 other ranks reached the site.
Demonstrating innovation and resolve, the troops employed a drone to deliver a rope and safety jacket to the stranded individual. Thereafter, the man was extricated safely. The entire operation was successfully executed in coordination with the State Disaster Relief Force, Rajasthan.
