Tarn Taran, September 26

Assistant Sub-Inspector Sarwan Kumar (54), who was posted at the city police station, died in a road accident, which took place on the Tarn Taran-Amritsar road, on Sunday.

The deceased was heading towards Tarn Taran from Amritsar on his car. His vehicle was hit by a private bus near Chabba village.

As a result, the ASI lost control over his car, which further rammed into another vehicle. It took over half an hour to pull the body out the ill-fated car. The body of the deceased has been sent to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem.
