AAP MLAs met outgoing Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore on Friday and challenged the Congress government to prove its majority in the Assembly. The delegation was led by senior AAP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema and included MLAs Amarjit Singh Sandoa, Jai Singh Rodi along with leaders Jagtar Singh Sanghera and Malvinder Singh Kang.

Claiming that the Capt Amarinder Singh-led government was in minority, the AAP delegation urged the Governor to convene a special session of the Assembly, directing the CM to prove majority in the House.

The leaders said if the CM was evasive on proving majority in the next seven days, the present government should be dissolved. Cheema said: “If rebel Congressmen want to save Punjab, they do not need to visit Dehradun or Delhi. Instead, they should submit their resignation to the Governor and register a vote of no confidence in the Assembly.” — TNS
