Farm workers, who have returned from the Delhi Morcha, announced the launch of a vigorous awareness campaign to widen their struggle against the agriculture laws.
Punjab Kher Mazdoor Union’s president Zora Singh Nasrali said joining the Delhi Morcha had made the farm workers realise that the new laws would deprive them of their livelihood and make their lives even more miserable. He said by looking at the plight of the peasants who were stuck in the frontlines and enduring harsh conditions, their affinity towards the peasantry and hatred towards the belligerent Modi government had intensified.
Union general secretary Lachhman Singh Sevewala said the commitment shown by the farmers’ organisations towards the workers during their participation in Delhi stir had left a positive impact on farm workers. — TNS
